Official Slapjack Rules
Slapjack is a fun and fast-paced card game that's perfect for all ages. It's a game of quick reflexes and memory, with a little bit of luck thrown in. Here's how to play:
Objective
Be the first player to collect all the cards in the deck.
Setup
Shuffling and Dealing:
Shuffle the deck of cards thoroughly.
Deal all the cards evenly among the players, face down. Each player should keep their cards in a stack, face down.
Gameplay
Taking Turns: Players take turns in clockwise order. On your turn, flip the top card of your deck face up and place it in the center of the playing area, where everyone can see it.
The Race for Jacks: When a Jack (J) is revealed, be the first player to slap the deck!  The player with the fastest reflexes who successfully slaps the deck first wins all the cards that have been played to the center of the table (including the Jack).
Winning the Cards: The winner shuffles the pile of collected cards together and places them face down at the bottom of their own deck. This increases their deck size and brings them closer to winning the game.
Slapping Mistakes: There's a penalty for slapping incorrectly! If a player accidentally slaps the deck for a card that is not a Jack, they must give one card (face down) from their deck to the player who revealed the non-Jack card.
Running Out of Cards: If a player runs out of cards, they are not entirely out of the game just yet! They can still participate until the next Jack is revealed. Here's what happens:
Successful Slap: If the player with no cards manages to slap the deck first for the next Jack, they are back in the game and collect all the cards in the center pile to add to their deck.
Missed Slap: However, if another player successfully slaps the deck for the Jack before the player with no cards can, then the player with no cards is eliminated from the game.
Winning the Game
The first player to collect all the cards in the deck, including those taken from other players for incorrect slapping, wins the game!
Notes
Stay Alert: Keep your eyes focused on the center pile, ready to react quickly when a Jack appears.
Watch Out for Fake Outs:Â Â Don't get fooled by players who might try to twitch their hand or mimic a slap to throw you off.
Remember Who Took Cards: Keep track of which players have had cards taken from them due to incorrect slaps. They might be more eager to win back those cards and might slap more aggressively.
Slapjack is a simple game but can get quite exciting as players race to collect Jacks and avoid penalties. Have fun and slap happy!
