Official Guess Who? Rules
Guess Who? Card Game is a simplified and portable version of the classic board game, Guess Who?. In this version, players use a deck of cards instead of the traditional flip boards. Here are the rules for playing the Guess Who? card game.
Objective
The objective of Guess Who? Card Game is to be the first player to correctly guess the mystery character that the opponent has chosen.
Setup
Shuffle: Shuffle the deck of character cards.
Deal: Each player is dealt a set of character cards. Players can either use a predetermined number of cards or the entire deck if it's manageable.
Choose a Mystery Character: Each player secretly chooses one character card from their hand to be their mystery character and places it face down.
Gameplay
Starting Play: Decide who goes first by mutual agreement or a simple method like flipping a coin.
Asking Questions:
Players take turns asking yes or no questions to eliminate characters and narrow down the possible mystery character.
Questions should be designed to distinguish between the characters, such as "Does your character wear glasses?" or "Does your character have blonde hair?"
Eliminating Characters:
Based on the opponent's answers, players eliminate characters from their list by setting aside the cards that don't match the given answer.
Continue asking questions on each turn, gradually narrowing down the possibilities.
Guessing the Mystery Character:
At any point during their turn, a player may choose to guess the opponent's mystery character instead of asking a question.
If the guess is correct, that player wins the round.
If the guess is incorrect, the opponent wins the round.
Winning the Game
The game can be played as a single round or multiple rounds, with the winner being the player who correctly guesses the mystery character the most times.
For a longer game, keep score and play until a predetermined number of rounds or points is reached.
Notes/Variations
Timed Rounds: Set a time limit for each player's turn to keep the game moving quickly.
Limited Questions: Limit the number of questions each player can ask before making a guess to increase the challenge.
Ask Broad Questions First: Start with general questions to eliminate many characters quickly.
Pay Attention to Details: Notice unique features that can help narrow down the characters more effectively.
Be Strategic with Guesses: Only guess the mystery character when you are reasonably confident to avoid giving an easy win to your opponent.
