Objective

Setup
Game Components:
Game Board: Displays various locations for gathering resources, completing tasks, and encountering events.
Gnome Tokens: Unique tokens representing each player’s gnome.
Resource Tokens: Represent resources such as wood, stone, and gold.
Task Cards: Cards that describe tasks players can complete for victory points.
Event Cards: Cards that introduce random events affecting the game.
Victory Point Tokens: Tokens used to track each player’s victory points.
Dice: Used for determining outcomes of actions or resolving events.
Player Boards: Personal boards where players track their resources, tasks, and progress.
Initial Setup:
Game Board: Place the game board in the center of the play area.
Resource Tokens: Place resource tokens in a general supply area accessible to all players.
Victory Point Tokens: Place victory point tokens in a separate supply area.
Task Cards: Shuffle the Task Cards and place them face down on the board. Draw a set number of Task Cards (as specified by the game rules) and place them face up.
Event Cards: Shuffle the Event Cards and place them face down on the board.
Player Setup:Each player selects a gnome token and places it on the designated start space on the game board. Each player receives a player board, a starting set of resource tokens (usually specified by the game), and a set number of Task Cards (typically 2-3). Place dice in a ready position if needed for certain actions or events.
Gameplay
The game is played in turns, with each player taking actions in a sequence. Each turn is divided into several phases:
1. Action Phase
During the Action Phase, players take turns performing actions. Each player can choose from the following actions:
Move:
Movement: Move your gnome token to an adjacent location on the board. Movement may be limited by the game’s rules or specific actions you wish to perform.
Location Effects: Different locations offer various benefits or actions, such as gathering resources, completing tasks, or trading.
Gather Resources:
Resource Collection: Collect resources from locations based on the board’s rules. Some locations may provide specific types of resources.
Resource Management: Manage your collected resources on your player board. You may need to trade or use them to complete tasks.
Complete Tasks:
Task Cards: Use the resources you have gathered to complete tasks listed on your Task Cards.
Turn In Resources: Turn in the required resources to the game or place them on the Task Card as specified.
Gain Points: Receive victory points and any additional rewards specified by the Task Card.
Trade:
Resource Exchange: Trade resources with other players or the game supply. The terms of trade are usually flexible but must adhere to any game rules regarding trading.
2. Event Phase
At the end of each round or turn (as specified by the game rules):
Draw Event Card:
Event Effects: Draw an Event Card from the top of the deck. The card will describe a specific event that affects all players or the game board.
Resolve Effects: Apply the effects of the Event Card, such as altering resource availability, changing task requirements, or impacting player actions.
3. End of Round
Check Objectives:
Review Progress: Assess any ongoing objectives or milestones that need updating. Players may need to adjust their strategies based on current conditions.
Prepare for Next Round:
Reset Actions: If necessary, reset any components or prepare for new actions in the following round. This could involve drawing new Task Cards or adjusting the game board.
Winning the Game
Winning:
The game typically ends after a set number of rounds or when specific conditions are met (e.g., a player completes a certain number of tasks).
The player with the most victory points at the end of the game is declared the winner.
Losing:
Players who fail to complete enough tasks or manage their resources poorly will have fewer victory points.
The game does not usually have a strict losing condition but rewards players who manage their tasks and resources effectively.
Strategy
Strategic Movement: Plan your movements to maximize resource collection and task completion. Avoid unnecessary movements that don’t contribute to your goals.
Resource Management: Efficiently manage and utilize resources to complete tasks and gain points. Trade wisely to obtain necessary resources.
