Official Crazy Rummy Rules
Crazy Rummy is a fast-paced and exciting variant of the classic Rummy game. It introduces unique elements that add a layer of unpredictability and strategy. Here's how to play:
Objective
To be the first player to go out by melding all your cards or to have the lowest score at the end of the game.
Setup
Players: 2-6 players
Deck: Use two standard 52-card deck.
Card Values:
Number cards (2-10): Face value
Face cards (J, Q, K): 10 points each
Ace: 1 point
Gameplay
Dealing:
Each player is dealt 11 cards.
The remaining cards form a draw pile, and the top card is placed face up to start the discard pile.
Turns:
On a player's turn, they draw one card from either the draw pile or the discard pile.
Players can lay down sets or runs if they meet the minimum point requirement for the round.
At the end of their turn, players must discard one card to the discard pile.
Sets and Runs:
Set: Three or more cards of the same rank (e.g., 7♦, 7♣, 7♠).
Run: Four or more consecutive cards of the same suit (e.g., 4♥, 5♥, 6♥, 7♥).
Jokers can be used as wild cards to substitute any card in a set or run.
Minimum Points:
Players must meet or exceed the minimum point value to lay down sets and runs:
Round 1:Â 50 points
Round 2:Â 100 points
Round 3:Â 150 points
Round 4:Â 200 points
Round 5:Â 250 points
Adding to Sets and Runs:
After laying down sets and runs, players can add cards to existing sets and runs on the table, either their own or other players'.
Going Out:
When a player gets rid of all their cards by laying down sets and runs and discarding their last card, they win the round.
Scoring:
At the end of each round, players score penalty points for the cards remaining in their hands.
Winning the Game
The game continues for a predetermined number of rounds, or until a player reaches a certain number of penalty points.
The player with the fewest penalty points at the end of the game wins.
Notes/Variations
Pay attention to the cards discarded by other players to anticipate their needs and avoid aiding them.
Balance between laying down sets and runs and keeping high-value cards for future plays.
Some variations may alter the number of cards dealt, the point values of cards, or the minimum points required to lay down sets and runs.
