    • Distribute starting resources such as health, supplies, and experience tokens as indicated by the game setup instructions.

  4. Adventure Book:

    • Place the Adventure Book nearby. This book contains the narrative encounters, choices, and story branches players will explore throughout the game.

  5. Event Deck:

    • Shuffle the Event Cards and place them face down on their designated spot on the board.

  6. Starting Location:

    • Place the characters' markers on the starting location as indicated by the game scenario.

Gameplay:

The game is played over a series of rounds, with each round consisting of the following phases:

  1. Explore:

    • Players move their characters across the map, exploring new locations and triggering encounters.

    • When entering a new location, refer to the Adventure Book for the corresponding encounter. Players will read the passage and make decisions that affect the story and their progress.

  2. Questing:

    • Throughout the game, players will pick up quests that guide them to specific locations or require certain tasks to be completed.

    • Completing quests often rewards players with resources, items, or story progression.

  3. Combat and Challenges:

    • Encounter enemies and face various challenges as you explore. Combat and challenges are typically resolved by rolling dice or drawing cards, with outcomes depending on your characters’ stats and items.

    • Combat is often strategic, requiring players to manage their resources and health carefully.

  4. Resource Management:

    • Keep track of your resources, such as food, supplies, and health. Managing these resources is crucial for survival, especially as the game progresses and challenges become more difficult.

    • Players can find or earn new items, equipment, and abilities to help them on their journey.

  5. Event Phase:

    • At the end of each round, draw an Event Card. These cards introduce random events that can either help or hinder the players, often adding new challenges or changing the game state.

  6. Narrative Decisions:

    • The game is heavily driven by narrative choices. Decisions made by players can lead to different story paths, rewards, or consequences.

    • Some decisions are irreversible and can significantly impact the game’s ending.

Scoring and Ending:

  • Final Objective: The game usually ends when players achieve the main quest’s objective or when they fail to survive the dangers of the world.

  • Scoring: Players may be scored based on the number of quests completed, items collected, and the overall outcome of their adventure.

Winning:

  • The game can end with different outcomes depending on the players’ choices and performance throughout the game. There are multiple possible endings, with some being more favorable than others.

Tips for Playing:

  • Manage Resources Wisely: Balancing your supplies and health is key to surviving the game’s many challenges.

  • Pay Attention to Story: Your choices matter. Consider the long-term consequences of your decisions, as they can shape the entire narrative.
