Objective:
To score the most points by completing puzzles with polyomino pieces and earning point cards.
Setup:
Players: 1-4 players.
Puzzle Cards:
Shuffle the deck of white (easier) and black (more challenging) Puzzle cards separately.
Create two face-up draw piles: one for white Puzzle cards and one for black Puzzle cards.
Place the remaining cards in separate face-down stacks.
Polyomino Pieces:
Sort the polyomino pieces by shape and place them within reach of all players.
Each player starts with one level-1 piece (a small square) and one level-2 piece (a longer rectangle).
First Player:
Determine the first player using your preferred method.
Gameplay:
Game Rounds:
The game is played over a series of rounds. In each round, players take turns performing up to three actions.
Actions:
On their turn, players can perform any combination of the following actions:
Take a Puzzle: Take a face-up Puzzle card from the central display and place it in front of you. You may have up to four unfinished puzzles at a time.
Upgrade a Piece: Upgrade one of your polyomino pieces to the next level. Replace a smaller piece with a larger one.
Take a New Piece: Take a level-1 piece (small square) from the supply and add it to your collection.
Place a Piece: Place one of your polyomino pieces onto one of your puzzles to fill in its spaces.
After each player has taken their turn, refill the display with new Puzzle cards from the corresponding deck.
Completing Puzzles:
A puzzle is considered complete when all of its spaces are filled with polyomino pieces.
Once completed, the player removes the pieces from the puzzle, places the completed card in their score pile, and immediately gains the reward shown on the card. Rewards can include new polyomino pieces or points.
Players can then use the recovered polyomino pieces to work on other puzzles.
Master Action:
Each player can perform a special “Master Action” once per round, allowing them to place one piece on each of their active puzzles simultaneously.
Game End:
The game ends when the supply of black Puzzle cards is exhausted, and all players have had an equal number of turns.
Players score points based on the completed Puzzle cards in their score pile.
Scoring:
White Puzzle Cards: Typically worth fewer points but easier to complete.
Black Puzzle Cards: Worth more points and provide larger or more advanced polyomino pieces as rewards.
Leftover Pieces: Players do not score points for leftover pieces that were not used to complete puzzles.
Winning:
The player with the highest total score from their completed Puzzle cards at the end of the game wins.
Tips for Playing:
Efficient Upgrading: Upgrade your pieces strategically to maximize your ability to complete more complex puzzles.
Puzzle Selection: Choose puzzles that match your current piece collection to complete them quickly.
Master Action: Use the Master Action to efficiently place multiple pieces across your puzzles in one turn.
