Gameplay
Memoir '44 is played in turns, with each turn consisting of several phases:
1. Command Phase
Play Command Card: The active player plays a Command Card from their hand to issue orders to their units. Command Cards determine which units can move and attack.
Issue Orders: Follow the instructions on the Command Card to move or attack with your units. Each Command Card specifies which units (left flank, center, or right flank) can act.
2. Action Phase
Move Units: Move the units as allowed by the Command Card. Units can move a number of spaces equal to their movement allowance.
Combat:
Target Selection: Choose enemy units within range to attack.
Roll Dice: Roll the custom dice to determine the outcome of the attack. Dice results indicate hits, misses, or special effects.
Apply Hits: Compare the attack results to the enemy unit’s defense. Apply damage according to the number of hits.
Damage Markers: Place damage markers on units to track their health and effectiveness.
3. End of Turn
End Phase: After completing your actions, your turn ends. The opponent then takes their turn, following the same sequence of phases.
Winning and Losing
Winning: The game ends when one side achieves the victory conditions specified in the scenario. This could involve capturing objectives, defeating a certain number of enemy units, or controlling key areas.
Losing: If a player fails to achieve the victory conditions by the end of the game, they lose. Also, if a player’s units are all eliminated or they are unable to continue, they may lose.

Plan Moves Carefully: Use your Command Cards strategically to maximize your effectiveness and achieve your objectives.
Utilize Terrain: Take advantage of terrain features to gain defensive bonuses and control key areas of the board.
