Get On Board: Paris & Rome is a flip-and-write game where players plan and build transit routes in Paris and Rome. Here's the official PDF and how to play:

Objective:

  • To score the most points by efficiently building and managing transit routes in Paris and Rome.

Setup:

  1. Players: 1-4 players.

  2. Game Boards:

    • Each player receives a game sheet with maps of Paris and Rome, featuring different transit routes and scoring areas.

    • Place the Event Cards and Route Cards near the play area.

  3. Markers and Pencils:

    • Provide each player with a pencil or marker for drawing on their game sheet.

  4. First Player:

    • Determine the first player using your preferred method.

Gameplay:

The game is played over a series of turns, with each turn consisting of the following phases:

  1. Draw Event Cards:

    • At the beginning of each turn, draw an Event Card. The Event Card may introduce new rules, special actions, or challenges for the round.

  2. Draw Route Cards:

    • Draw Route Cards that indicate the types of routes players can build. These cards specify the transit routes and their starting points.

  3. Draw and Connect Routes:

    • Based on the Route Cards, players draw the specified routes on their game sheets. Routes must be connected and can cross each other, but they must adhere to the rules of the game.

    • Players can choose to build routes in either Paris or Rome, or both, depending on the card instructions.

  4. Complete Objectives:

    • Complete objectives based on the Event Cards and Route Cards. Objectives may involve connecting specific locations, building routes to particular areas, or achieving certain conditions.

    • Players score points based on how well they meet these objectives.

  5. End of Round:

    • At the end of each round, check for completed objectives and score points accordingly.

    • Refresh the Event Cards and Route Cards for the next round.

Scoring:

  • Routes: Points are awarded based on the length and efficiency of the transit routes built.

  • Objectives: Points are earned for completing specific objectives outlined by the Event Cards and Route Cards.

  • Efficiency: Bonus points may be awarded for achieving efficient route connections or for meeting additional criteria set by the cards.

Winning:

  • The game ends after a predetermined number of rounds or when a specific condition is met (e.g., all route cards have been used).

  • The player with the highest total score, combining points from routes and objectives, wins the game.

Strategy:

  • Plan Ahead: Strategically plan your routes to maximize efficiency and complete objectives.

  • Adapt to Events: Adjust your strategy based on the challenges and opportunities introduced by the Event Cards.

  • Optimize Routes: Aim to build long and efficient routes that connect key locations and fulfill objectives.
