Official Flamecraft Rules

Flamecraft is a charming worker placement and resource management game where players take on the role of Flamekeepers, skilled in the art of charming dragons to perform various tasks in the village. The goal is to use these dragons to enhance shops, gather resources, and earn the most reputation points.

Objective:

  • To earn the most reputation points by enchanting shops, gathering resources, and placing dragons strategically.

Setup:

  1. Players: 1-5 players.

  2. Game Board:

    • Place the Village Board in the center. This board represents the village where dragons will be placed to help gather resources.

    • Shuffle the Shop Cards and place six of them face up on the designated spaces on the board.

  3. Dragon Deck:

    • Shuffle the Dragon Cards and place them face down to form a draw pile.

    • Deal three dragon cards to each player as their starting hand.

  4. Enchantment Deck:

    • Shuffle the Enchantment Cards and place them near the board. These cards provide special powers that players can activate to gain advantages.

  5. Resource Tokens:

    • Place the resource tokens (such as bread, potions, iron, and others) in piles near the board where all players can access them.

  6. Reputation Track:

    • Place a marker for each player on the starting space of the reputation track. This track will be used to keep score throughout the game.

  7. First Player:

    • Determine the first player using your preferred method.

Gameplay:

The game is played over a series of turns, with each player taking one turn at a time. Each turn consists of the following phases:

  1. Visit a Shop:

    • On your turn, move your dragon to one of the six shops on the board. You can visit any shop, even if it already has another player's dragon.

    • When visiting a shop, you can either Gather resources or Enchant the shop.

  2. Gathering Resources:

    • If you choose to gather resources, collect the resources shown on the shop card. If there are dragons already at the shop, you may also gain additional resources based on their abilities.

    • You can also place one of your dragon cards from your hand at the shop to enhance its abilities for future visits.

  3. Enchanting a Shop:

    • To enchant a shop, play one of your Enchantment Cards and pay the required resources. This action allows you to place the enchantment on the shop, giving it special powers.

    • Enchanting a shop also rewards you with reputation points and sometimes other bonuses.

  4. Fire Up Dragons:

    • After gathering resources or enchanting a shop, you can activate the abilities of the dragons at that shop. Each dragon has a unique ability that can provide various benefits, such as gaining extra resources, drawing cards, or earning additional points.

  5. End of Turn:

    • Draw a new dragon card from the deck to replenish your hand.

    • If you enchanted a shop, draw a new enchantment card.

    • The turn passes to the next player.

Scoring:

  • Reputation Points: Earned by enchanting shops, using dragon abilities, and completing certain objectives.

  • Resources: While resources themselves don’t score points directly, they are crucial for enchanting shops and gaining reputation.

Winning:

  • The game ends when the last enchantment is placed or when a certain number of shops have been fully enchanted (depending on the player count).

  • The player with the highest total reputation points at the end of the game wins.

Tips for Playing:

  • Strategic Placement: Place your dragons in shops where they can maximize resource gathering and future benefits.

  • Enchant Wisely: Focus on enchanting shops that align with your strategy and give you the most reputation points.

  • Resource Management: Efficiently manage your resources to ensure you can afford the enchantments you want.
