Official Blank Slate Rules


Objective
 

  • The objective of Blank Slate is to score points by providing unique, but not too unique, answers to word prompts.

Setup

​

  1. Shuffle the word cue cards and place them face down in the center of the play area.
     

  2. Each player receives a slate board and a dry-erase marker.

Blank Slate Board Game

Gameplay:

​

  1. Turn Sequence:
     

    • In each round, one player acts as the "reader" and draws a word cue card from the deck. They read the prompt aloud to all players.

    • Players then secretly write their answer on their slate board, trying to match the prompt without being too obvious or too obscure.
       

  2. Reveal and Scoring:
     

    • Once all players have written their answers, they reveal them simultaneously.

    • Players score points based on how many other players they match with:

      • If only one player matches, both players score 3 points.

      • If two or more players match, each matching player scores 1 point.

      • If no players match, each player scores 0 points.

    • Players mark their scores on a scoring track.
       

  3. Next Round:
     

    • Pass the reader role to the next player clockwise.

    • Draw a new word cue card and repeat the process for the next round.End of Game:
       

    • The game continues for a predetermined number of rounds or until players reach a certain score threshold.

    • The player with the highest score at the end of the game wins.
